The Mortgage Girls in the first 5% to receive their Full Class 2 Financial Advice Provider Licence

The Mortgage Girls have some exciting news!

The Financial Markets Authority has approved our Full Class 2 Financial Advice Provider Licence!

What is a Full Class 2 Financial Advice Provider Licence?

Ok, that’s a really wordy announcement. So, what does it actually mean?

Anyone offering advice to people on what they should or could do with their money is in a trusted position. You want to be confident that that person knows what they are talking about, has your best interests at heart, and is doing everything above board.

The "Financial Markets Conduct Act 2013" was amended to make sure that people in the Financial Services industry, which includes mortgage brokers like us, plus insurance brokers, investment advisers and financial planners, are following the rules and providing appropriate advice. According to the Financial Markets Authority (FMA) less than 5% of businesses in our industry have their full licence, read more here.

The Mortgage Girls is in the 5%!

All individuals and companies operating in the industry have until 2023 to meet all the terms and conditions of the new legislation, which includes meeting certain standards and gaining a new licence.

What does this mean for you?

We have put the processes in place, met the standards required, and we are one of a very small group of businesses who have met this standard and received a Full Licence from the Financial Markets Authority.

You can approach The Mortgage Girls for financial advice around:

  • borrowing money;
  • restructuring your mortgage; or
  • finding ways to become debt free faster.

When you come to The Mortgage Girls, you are working with a financial adviser and a company that’s regulated and meets industry standards, plus someone who cares about you, and wants to see you achieve your financial goals.
